The amnesty is for children brought here by their parents. These children have lived as US citizens for their entire life. Giving them amnesty is simply the right thing to do.

No, the current Amnesty legislation in the house right now extends well beyond just the dream act.

And even then ...why is the right thing to do?

Look at it this way...

If someone breaks into your house and steals all the Christmas presents under your tree to give to their children because they don't have the ability to buy there own; and they are caught. Should their children get to keep the gifts because it's not their fault their parent stole it...and as far as they knew...Santa brought it because they are good little boys and girls?

Citizenship (as far as naturalization) is a gift.

All they need to do is slam the doors closed on any employer than exploits illegals for profit and does not follow our existing labor laws. Since it is a tax code violation, they can padlock the doors until the back taxes are paid. Do that 2-3 times and the economic advantage of exploiting humans vanishes, the jobs vanish and the illegals vanish. You will pay more for having your roof replaced or a head of lettuce. So what?

Politicians will not do it because it will work. Both parties want illegals here for their own purposes.

You are correct about the current amnesty legislation.

Yes, the poor children should get to keep the gifts. Are you saying the gifts should be taken away? How do you know the kids aren't good little boys and girls? Why do you hate poor kids?

I have no idea if they are good little boys and girls or not. But I do know that somebody shouldn't be able to keep anything that doesn't belong to them.

I don't hate poor kids..I love children, especially my own and I won't allow others to take what is rightly theirs without a fight.

People say this a lot on this site, and it comes down to the fact that they don't actually know what illegal aliens get. They don't get lots of free stuff and a puppy.

Your wife will be a LPR in the US in no time, with a legal status and rights and protections. The illegals would give an eye tooth to be in her position.

The wait is too long, that's for sure, but it will be over in the blink of an eye and the pain of waiting will melt away.

LOL, standby, the politicians are working on that puppy for you

L.A. COUNTY TO DOLE OUT MILLIONS IN WELFARE BENEFITS TO ILLEGAL ALIEN PARENTS

Sep. 17, 2013 2:53pm Becket Adams

Los Angeles County is on track to pay out roughly $650 million in welfare benefits to illegal alien parents in 2013, county officials said Monday.

The figures, which come via the Department of Public Social Services, show that approximately $376 million in combined CalWORKs and food stamps benefits were doled out through July to illegal alien parents for their native-born children, CBS Los Angeles reports.

Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich made the announcement.

The California county pays out roughly $54 million in welfare payments each month, according to official data. Of that amount, approximately $20 million comes from CalWORKs and roughly $34 million comes from food stamp issuances, the report adds.

Of the 60,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County, approximately 100,000 children receive aid, said Antonovich.

He adds that estimates for 2013, which are up $1 million from 2012’s $53 million per month benefit payments, show the importance of the national debate on immigration.

“When you add the $550 million for public safety and nearly $500 million for healthcare, the total cost for illegal immigrants to county taxpayers exceeds $1.6 billion dollars a year,” said Antonovich.

“These costs do not even include the hundreds of millions of dollars spent annually for education.”
