Something new I learned during my infopass appointment but i doubt the accuracy of the information.

History: According to Tier 2, initially my application was in queue to be sent to the local office. Later, in couple weeks, it was in queue to be processed at NBC. I was confused as to why the change and made an infopass appointment on friday the 5th and the very nice IO explained to me like this.

Any applications that are delayed according i.e. more than 6 months are typically sent to the local office, exception are overseas filers. Any applications that are current i.e. within 6 months are tagged as to be processed by NBC and could be tagged to be processed by local office IF they are over 6 months time. Then I asked, why was my application initially tagged to be processed by local office then? My application has been sitting in NBC for not even for 4 months? Then he went on to say, maybe at some point NBC thought that your application is somehow delayed but I don't know...your application should not have been tagged as to be sent to local office since it has not been over 6 month.

Interesting, I thought. There are many applications being sent to local office that are within 6 month time frame so why would the IO tell me otherwise?

The more information i seek regarding the I-130 the more confusion it brings...I AM PUZZLED.

I talked to tier 2 today, they said the processing time is 6 to 8months now. So she was like why I am asking for more info. She wasn't willing to give anything else.

My friend, processing time changes everytime I call and speak with Tier 2. So, we are in a black hole. I am sure processing time changes based on the volume of applications but Tier 2 will give us just a general information they have handy.

They are meant to be rude, matter of fact almost all government employee are... in most part mad.gif

I highly doubt that I would be able to get my wife here before end of the year but I'll see what happens.

I read that you had an infopass. So even if the case is not transferred to a local office, can we have an info pass? During the infopass are we seeing a tier 2 or an immigration officer? or just one of the employees?

Yes, you can do infopass anytime. I believe the officer is immigration officer, higher than Tier 2.

This maybe a good indication that you get the approval real soon. I believe someone is reviewing your file...do you know if the file been sent to the local office or it is still an NBC?

And you are the petitioner filed from US not overseas, if i remember correctly? Hope you get the approval soon, keep us posted. Hopefully, your application won't be routed to local office, if it did, then possibly there would be another waiting period.

I think that is good. That means someone is doing something with your file. Hopefully good news follows. Good luck.

I still can not see the status of my file online.
