DS 260 Document ID #...I'm confused!

Hello

Now that I am being told that I have to fill out the DS260 after being told I didn't have to, I am confused about the Document ID part...It is of course my husband's passport that I am using. It asks for Document ID....On his Dominican passport there is his Passport # AND a Document ID#....does anyone know which one belongs in that space for sure? I really can't handle another checklist that will take another 30 business days for my own sanity!!! headbonk.gif I don't trust getting the answer from the people I talk to at the NVC because it seems I get told something different every time I talk to someone.

Aug 23, 2013 ~ Received Checklist on DS230..need Birth Certificate in Extensa

Sept 9, 2013 ~ NVC Received correct Birth Certificate, but now being told 30 business day review instead of 20 sad.png

Sept 13, 2013 ~ Did the DS 260 online...another 30 business day review ..Ugghhhhh...was told we didn't need to do this, but now we do mad.gif

Oct 2, 2013 ~ CASE COMPLETE AND INTERVIEW DATE OF NOV. 20th!! WAHOOOOO!

Nov 20, 2013 ~ VISA APROVADA!!

Nov 26, 2013 ~ Picked Up Visa in Santo Domingo at Domex

Nov 27, 2013 ~ POE Atlanta....Then flew to Illinois....Picked my Hubby up at the Airport!!!

Hey I was just told that as of Sept 1, 2013 NVC is receiving online visa applications. I've copied and past this from the website travel.state.gov

"Visa News

Welcome to the Visa News webpage. For important notices about changes to visa related procedures, check back later for updates to this webpage.

Starting September 1, 2013, all immigrant visa applicants will apply online using Form DS-260 (Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration). Applicants will also choose their agent online using Form DS-261 (Choice of Address and Agent). Applicants will access both forms on the web at ceac.state.gov.

These forms replace the paper DS-230 and DS-3032. The National Visa Center (NVC) may instruct some applicants who previously submitted Form DS-230 to submit Form DS-260. Only Diversity Visa and Cuban Family Reunification Parole applicants will continue to use the paper forms. If you have questions or feedback about Forms DS-260 and DS-261, contact the NVC at nvcinquiry@state.gov or 603-334-0700."

Thanks, but no, it doesn't help. I know I have to do it online now...What I'm trying to say is that on a Dominican Passport there is a Document ID# and a Passport #. The DS260 says "Document ID".... I don't know if I'm suppose to put the document ID # on the passport or the passport #. Common sense tells me it should be the Passport #, but all the hold ups I've been through, I don't 100% trust myself. Guess I will just call and hope the person I speak to at NVC knows what they are talking about because I tend to get all kinds of answers from them. :(

Sounds like the passport #, but I would call in to make sure. Ask them if there is a way to submit both using an addendum.

2015-1-26 - 221(g) denial (again)! :cry: Case being transferred to Washington for a SAO.

2015-5-21 - Consulate e-mailed us and asked for her passport! Approved?

2015-5-23 - Submitted passport to CITIC Bank

2015-6-29 - Passport with visa arrived :dancing:... but expires in 16 days, time to hustle!!!
