While my nanay is waiting for NVC to complete the case and waiting to receive her USEM interview letter, can she proceed wtih the advance CFO Seminar????

What documents she needs to present at CFO?

Also, I've known through CFO Website, they only occummodate a limited # of people per day (70 per day for US Bound - if I'm not mistaken), what if my nanay will travel all the may to Manila and line up early in the morning only to find out she can't make it on the line. Does this mean she has to come back the following day and try to line up again cray5ol.gif

In my case, I am still waiting for petition to get approved. I am pending on my Philippine passport coz I still have to obtain for CFO Certificate. I can proceed already for a CFO Seminar where it is prerequisite for getting a passport.

These are the counseling requirements:

1. Original and photocopy of 2 valid identification cards with photograph.

2. Duly completed guidance and counseling form.

3. If married, original and photocopy of marriage contract on security paper from the NSO.

It must be from NSO not from LCR authenticated by NSO <---- updated! (That's why I'm still pending, I still have to wait for my marriage contract from NSO)

4. Other documents as may be required by the counselors (like in my case, spousal visa: photocopy passport of my husband which he is my petitioner, our cenomar and our pictures)

- they also said it depends on the counselor on what she/he needs so just bring everything.

5. Payment of php400.00 counseling and registration fee.

I was there last week, not in CFO Manila though, I'm from Cebu. In Cebu, they can cater only for 15 per day unlike in Manila, they can accommodate 17 people per day. Your nanay should be there very early.

You can call the CFO Manila prior to the desired date of CFO Seminar to inquire more informations.

Good luck and God bless!

If your nanay is 60 years and above, she's exempted from attending the actual seminar. She will only need to register and get the sticker, so better to wait until she has the visa and visa packet.

If she's required to attend the seminar, she must be there 2 hours before. It's quite rare that people are turned away because the 70 slots are not always filled up.

im confused.. most vj members say 15 slots only.. while at CFO website they are open up to 70 slots. 15 or 70?

F2A, F2B and IR5 are included in the 70 slots.

Those limited to 15 slots are the K1 and spouses of US citizens (IR/CR).

My fiancee has already been to Manila embassy and her visa was approved, and they kept her passport...

While she waits for her passport to be returned with the visa can she attend the CFO even though she now doesn't have her passport in hand? She does have copies of her passport biopage but since the embassy has her passport she can't present that at CFO.

I know that she could have attended the CFO BEFORE her interview with her passport in hand but can she attend now that she doesn't have her passport in hand?

Just a note... my fiancee got a text saying her passport was ready to be picked up and the status on the website said that as well but when she went before noon the next day her passport was not there; it was however, there AFTER noon.

She went to the CFO on September 20th again before noon to try to get into an afternoon slot and was successful on first try. They asked her many, many questions; far more with much more scrutiny than during her visa interview, but in the end she was awarded the coveted sticker.

She will be flying to join me in Orlando, Florida on September 28th. Thanks to this site and great advice provided here, we never one had a setback or delay. The key I believe is to pay very close attention to every little detail; follow all examples on this site exactly and be meticulous in making sure you don't leave anything blank or unanswered. Just keep in mind we are dealing with government agencies and they want and expect things to be exactly as they specify, otherwise, even if it is simple or trivial they will reject your paperwork or request additional information.

Can't wait to marry my Emma!

Always glad to hear when a story comes together. The wait seems long, but the reward? Priceless....

Congrats to you guys!
