My fiance and I were married this Saturday! We plan to have a religious ceremony next September. I really thought about the intent of this K1 visa and defintely feel the 90 days is not enough time to plan an appropriate wedding. (ok a big wedding) This is definitely an expensive route. Next stop is AOS. Can't wait for my baby to get his EAD card since he is going crazy staying home. I gave him a project list and he is pretty much all done.

K1 - Filed March 2011

- Denied March 13, 2012

- Placed in AP March 14,2012

- Sent back to USCIS November 2012

- Expired March 2013

WASTED A YEAR FIGHTING THE DENIEL

MARRIED MARCH 15, 2013

1-130 Approved 3/3/2014 :-)

Finally made it home 3/18/2014

yay congrats!!! I definitely agree that 90days is not enough. We plan on having our big wedding next year too December 23 to be exact. We already have a place booked LOL. Wish you nothing but the absolute best in your marriage!!!

we did the same thing, got married(court house) in November 2011 then had a ceremony in July 2012

too hard to plan a wedding in 90days

2013-08-12 (Day 1 ) - Sent my Aos package for work permit and green Card

2013-08-20 (DAY 8) Noa1 received via Text around 11pm, next day was email. Received my case numbers

2013-08-23 (Day 11)- received hard copy in mail for Noa1 gc , Work permit

2013-08-30 (Day 18) Received Biometrics appointment letter in the mail.

2013-09-17 (Day 25) biometrics appointment day @2pm Detriot

2013-09-25 (Day 33) received text and email , I485 changed to testing and interview

2013-10-02 (Day 40) received text message and email @7am about my interview date

2013-10-04 (Day 42) Received hard copy interview letter in the mail

2013-10-10 (Day 48) Work permit Card in production

2013-10-16 (Day 54) 2nd Text and email @830am Work permit in Production

2013-10-21 (Day 59) text/email notice 10am . Work Permit sent

2013-10-21(Day 59)Text/ email @9pm received text with tracking number -2 day delievery

2013-10-24(Day 62) received my work permit in the mail.

2013-10-25 Filled for my Social Security number today

2013-11-12 (Day 81) - Received text and email - Green card sent @1.15pm

congrats gurl! been following ur story and im loving how its turned out..

we originally had a big ceremony planned, but after the stress of the process, and other stressors, we did courthouse as well, at the end of the day, im still his wife regardless of the path taken :)

yes, ur husband will drive u batty, because they are bored, my husband is soooooo not used to sitting still so this is really hard.. hopefully ead comes soon..(for us both!)

So very happy for you, what hardship you had to endure! We are now 1.5 months into wedded bliss and things couldn't be better! Hubby already has a job waiting for him when he receives the EAD so we're happy and I know know you are too!
