Hello!

I just started the process of applying for a K-1 visa for my fiance and I have a question about the initial I-129F form. There is a place for phone number but it is the (xxx) xxx-xxxx format. Since I am currently living in Japan my number is (xxx) xxxx-xxxx format and therefor won't fit into the form.

I thought about just writing it in and having one number outside of the boxes but the instructions say the form is read by a special machine and won't read anything outside of the boxes or anything with correction tape/white out on it. Does anyone have any experience with this? What should I do?

Thanks!

Just hand-write it in. It was a really stupid oversight on the part of USCIS in this new form to have the telephone be US-standard. The old form wasn't like that. They messed up.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!
