They mailed me a copy of that form in the letter and it's dated the same so don't worry. Did you find out how much it's going to cost you? Mine is 135$. Wish it was cheaper.

Thanks for clearing the air on that. we didnt get a form attached to the RFE letter.

will go ahead and fill it out electronically then print. I'm banking on my medical insurance to cover costs, hopefully no co-pay needed

when did you get yours done and how long has it taken since you have followed up?

My appointment is for tomorrow in the afternoon so will see how it goes. I will have to ask if my medical insurance will cover it.

I didn't know medical insurance would cover trips to the civil surgeon.

I didn't know medical insurance would cover trips to the civil surgeon.

Technically it should, depending on your provider,i believe you are entitled to a one time annual cost free medical evaluation.

If you don't mind me asking, when we're your respective medicals done? Was it your K-1 physical? The reason I ask is that my wife did 2 physicals, one for her K-1 in 11/13 and another by a civil surgeon here in the US in early March 2014 for the AOS. I'm concerned that since they've been screwing around so much, they're gonna stick us too. I will be ticked...

Have you noticed USCIS seem to go through 'phases' where they'll send out RFE's for medicals and then there'll be a long period where people get approved, and then we'll go back to the RFEs again?

Technically it should, depending on your provider,i believe you are entitled to a one time annual cost free medical evaluation.

Your annual checkup is what you are referring to, I assume. Unfortunately not everyone has planned their checkup to coincide with USCIS's RFE for a new medical.

I had my "cost free" checkup in September 2014, so my next one comes up at the same time. If USCIS request a new medical before then I will have to pay out of pocket because I have a high deductible plan.

Yeah I've noticed that as well. It appears we're in a flow instead of an ebb. Blaga-Tina's RFE bothers me since their medical in Bulgaria was Feb 2014 and they have to update her vaccination report. They've f@@ted around so much now that even people with medicals right at the one year mark are gettin' dinged, though the FO's vary. Our problem is that being 2 weeks postop from brain surgery with pituitary hormones all over the map, my wife cannot get a flu shot at this time. This will be fun to explain...

I guess we're stuck again, though this time in the arm...

They wont ask for you to redo your flu jab after the 31st of March, so hopefully you wont get a rfe in the interim.

Now here our concern. my wife was about to make the appointment with the civil surgeon this morning until i realized the medical form on the uscis site (i-693) is not an updated version.

it expired 1/31/2015.

she says it wont matter but i'm trying to be very meticulous.

Any suggestions before we go ahead

thanks guys

Well, the one USCIS sent me (in the official letter) expired in 2013. My civil surgeon gave me the 2015 form, which is the most recent.

Technically it should, depending on your provider,i believe you are entitled to a one time annual cost free medical evaluation.

I don't think so, although you may have more luck than me. My Australian one was not covered, and neither was my American (California). I was told point blank both times that as they were for immigration, insurance didn't cover a thing.

Actually it doesn't say expired that was my interpretation since I know it did :) The letter says exactly this: "To complete processing of the Form I-485 for the above named beneficiary, please provide an updated Form I-693 (Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Report) to include updated immuniation report. Go to any of the physicians listed on the attached sheet to complete the Form I-693. Please provide the above requested documentation by the date listed above. Mail the completed Form I-693 to the mailing address listed above by June 3, 2015. Failure to provide the requested documentation by the listed date will result in denial of the application"

Now it got me thinking could this be just for one flu shot like Shell said!? If so I'm glad I saved the paperwork when I got mine a few months ago. I hope they don't need me to do all the x-rays and blood tests again...

Interesting. It's similar to mine, but worded a little different (something along the lines of 'complete page five of vaccinations'). I didn't initially need a flu shot (November 2013 was summer in Australia), but maybe someone didn't pay attention to that? Mine should have been only copying all the tick marks, but apparently I need Hep A and B again (why, I don't quite know), not any of the other more costly stuff.
