2 days ago you said you were far from your interview, what happened? Joint interviews are extremely rare in Canada, what red flags caused you to get one?

Oh no no. You have me misunderstood. I'm sorry.

I plan on attending with my fiancee to her interview when the time comes, for support and to help our case. I was asking if anyone had experience with going to their spouses interview with them and how it went, if they were allowed to stay during the interview, etc.

I'm just asking this ahead of time because I like to know what to expect beforehand. :)

There's really no need for you to go unless, as Penguin says, there are red flags.

I have a prior marriage that ended during the time I knew the beneficiary, so I guess that's a red flag? Anyway, I want to be there just in case, and also I thought if I was there it would help provide more that we have a bona fide relationship.

But your divorce was final before you filed the I129F, right?

Indeed it was and I also waited the 6 months my state requires before you can remarry. I only thought my previous marriage was a red flag because everyone here seems to say a prior marriage is a red flag. It doesn't make sense to me, but it's what I've read.

I had my interview in Vancouver on August 9th. My fiancé came with me (as he was already going to be visiting me anyway), he wasn't asked any questions; he was actually asked to remain seated. The co did make a joke about my fiancé being there being the best evidence of a current relationship, but I don't think it mattered that he came. If you want and are able to go, then go; if not, I don't think it will matter.

Several marriages can be a red flag if you're petitioning for fiancées or spouses from all over. But for Canada, not so much, unless your fiancée is a PR not a citizen.

My then fiancé (now husband) came with me for moral support and I think its a fine thing to do. They actually did ask him a couple questions but nothing major. We were quite a little crowd since my daughter was there as well (K2).

My husband's divorce was not final until about a month after we were engaged but he'd been separated for quite a while - they just hadn't gotten around to getting the divorce finalized.....I really doubt it's a big deal.

Good luck!
