My husband came here on a K-1 visa in June of 2012. We are only now just sending the paperwork for his green card. I know he has to get a medican exam again because its been over a year. Does anyone know what we should do? Do we just go to a civil surgeon? What does he need to get done? Thanks!

Find a Civil Surgeon near you: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.type&OfficeLocator.office_type=CIV and make an appointment. You will probably have to go at least a couple of times. Make sure the office knows you want an I-693 immigration medical examination.

If your hubby has health insurance, may want to check whether the civil surgeon will accept it. It may make the bill more palatable.

Thank you!! My husband has health insurance through me but we have a high deductible plan so we would have to pay anyway. I will see if maybe HSA can cover. Thanks for responding so quickly!!

Insurance usually does not cover the I-693 examination, but it never hurts to ask.
