What if we got our case numbers before it goes back?

congrats - if the case # is assigned before it doesn't change the process. an interview will not be scheduled unless a visa number is available / cut off day reached to cover your priority date assigned by uscis

Yes, you will still get your NVC case number and submit the pertinent documents.

The only thing is, if the VB for F2A does retrogress and you PD is not current with the new VB PD, then they can't provide you the Interview Date with your consulate until your PD becomes current again.
