My fiancee paid the visa fee at BPI late Friday afternoon. I waited until Monday evening and tried to schedule the interview, but it says invalid receipt number. So I tried again Tuesday night (which is now) and still same thing. Is this because of the US Embassy being closed due to flooding on 8/19, 8/20 and the holiday on 8/21? I assumed BPI would be the one updated the receipt number in their system. Does the Embassy have something to do with that also because its scheduling through their site? Any help would be appreciated. I did check all the info many times, and its all correct including the receipt number.

I had the same problem last week, again after paying BPI and then attempting to schedule and interview. My problem was I was using the passport numbers (old way) and not the 9 digit receipt number (new way) found below my fiancée name on the receipt. Once I used the correct number it worked flawlessly.

So if it is not user error then it could be anything.... bank or USEM or both. When they reopen Thursday, and if you are still not having any luck, I'd try then.

Green Card received July 17, 2014 GC received without interview

Receipt number could be your passport number or the 9-digit number. Have you tried them both? If it's still not working, I guess you need to wait Thursday because today is Holiday, and this week's Monday and Tuesday banks are closed too because of calamity. Even my money hasn't even arrived yet into my bank when I withdrew it last Friday.

It will be convenient if she will do it. Well you can, but agents on the phone asks too many question for profile verification like passport number etc. better yet, have the applicant call for scheduling.

Actually, agents are using the exact same system as the one we used for scheduling which is the https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/.

With no one at the embassy to upload the data... yup I would say its because the embassy is closed. You need to be patient and wait for the embassy to open after the flooding subsides.

BPI just collects the money, they have nothing to do with scheduling at the embassy.
