Yes, the key phrase Tahoma is "whether they can find a reasonably priced civil surgeon.") In Hawaii it seems like $125.00-$400.00 is the going rate. Far cry from $40.00!

I am going to print this and include it with the DS 3025.

3. What if I am a K nonimmigrant visa holder and already had a medical exam overseas?

If you were admitted as a:
a. K-1 fiancé(e) or a K-2 child of a K-1 fiancé(e); or as a
b. K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen or a K-4 child of a K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen; and
c. You received a medical examination prior to admission, then:

(1) You are not required to have another medical examination as long as your Form I-485 is filed within one year of your overseas medical examination, and the medical examination did not reveal a Class A medical condition, or if you did have a Class A medical condition, you received a waiver of inadmissibility and have complied with the terms and conditions on the waiver.

(2) Even if a new medical examination is not required, you must still show proof that you complied with the vaccination requirements. If the vaccination record (DS 3025) was not properly completed and included as part of the original overseas medical examination report, you will have to have the vaccination report completed by a designated civil surgeon. In this case, you are required to submit the vaccination record and page 1 of Form I-693.

Each civil surgeon that still wants to over charge you and give un-needed exams or vaccinations, show them the above information, and then tell them you are going to report them to the local USCIS director.

^^^. That's a great idea!!! Send them the instructions!!!

I remember that Chinook had to call at least six to eight civil surgeons here in Seattle before she found one who knew the drill.

Nope you don't need another physical if you file within a year of the initial physical, but I have read of too many issues when the I-693 is not sent.

I have read (and recently) of couples getting an RFE because the I-693 from the civil surgeon was not submitted. I know what it states on the USCIS forms and website, but I also know RFE's has been sent because of only sending the 3025. It may depend on the Adjudicator reviewing the file, but it happens fairly often.

Has your green card been approved yet?

I know of 2 that tried it. Both got RFE's

The poster above said it worked for him..

Who knows >

I hope it works...we called every CS in Honolulu...$125.00+ is a lot of money with the wedding a week away...

This thread on ***removed*** seems to support the idea...

I live on the Big Island and we have two Civil Surgeons. One wants to do a full exam for $400, the other will transcribe the DS3025 info to I-693 for $180. My wife is adamant that her DS3025 is full and complete but I did warn her that some have gotten RFEs. We will most likely submit a copy of her DS3025 with the quoted USCIS info that I-693 is not needed and pray no RFE.

Hello to all!!!

Currently doing a lot of reading again as we are about to start our AOS. One of the things I don't yet understand is having the DS-3025 and I'm here in Washington State. Some says it is not needed however some says they got RFE's.

Any thoughts?

The DS-3025 is the vaccination record that you need to get transcribed to the I-693. Some have used the DS-3025 without issue, but a fair number have gotten an RFE and had to get the DS-3025 transcribed to the I-693.

To play it safe and not get an RFE get the DS-3025 transcribed.
