Hey! I'd like some help if you don't mind. I'm filling out the I-134 for my fiance and do not know whether I should include my W2s and tax returns for last year as they are not required (I was not self employed). I have a letter from my employer stating my income and benefits (my income is above the 100% and 125% poverty line this year) and the assets I have in the bank.

Last year, I only made 100% above the poverty line for a 2 person family but was shy of the 125% percent line. I do not to include my w2s and tax returns and have this count against me. I also have nobody willing to be a co-sponsor. I should not need a co-sponsor this year anyways because my income is much higher than it was last year and I have the supporting evidence to show that.

My fiance lives in the Caribbean. Any advice? Leave the W2s and tax returns off? Attach them and pray it will be okay? What should I do?

Don't worry! Your previous income doesn't matter -- it's what you make now.

Include the proof of your previous income as requested, but also include proof of your current income. Having lived overseas, I made practically nothing last year. This year, though, when the interview was, I made enough. It was fine.

What would Xenu do?

I am guessing Haiti gives no instructions on what should be included with the I-134. I wish all the consulates would require the same things and state what those documents are to make it clear. Include them to be on the safe side, plus they show ongoing employment. Also you have the proof of your current income being enough.

For the I-134 you need 2 years tax transcript, last 3 paystubs and recent bank statement from what I remember...Best of luck to you and yours.

Does that vary from place to place? In the I134 instructions I read, required a letter from your employer, letter from the bank..

Taxes were to be sent if you were self employed.

varies from embassy to embassy and officer to officer

best to have as much as possible

but tax return copies or transcripts will be necessary, best to always have 3 years on hand of transcripts.. easier to deal with

also a variable is you will need the 125% for your 134 (Hank_)

good luck
