Does anyone know how I can get a hold of someone at the embassy.

I ll make this as short as possible

we were in AP for almost a year. wife had an interview last year in August and was told she is not denied and won't have to come back to the embassy once AP is completed. In March they asked her to complete another medical and Police check. which was completed within a few days and sent to the embassy.

In July they asked her to send in her passport via DX service and they received it on July 22, 2013.

On July 26 they changed their whole contact syste and I can no longer email like i used to get an udpate with a code.

I have sent a couple of email thru the contact us section on visa contact form from the website and Have not gotten a response.

it has been over three weeks now and our return tracking number is still not showing any update on dx website.

CEAC website was showing us AP till August 7th, 2013. now it says expiring soon. which I am sure is DATA ERROR since they have asked and received passport from us.

Does anyone know how and where I can contact the embassy. I have tried every number listed on the website to no avail. They have gotten back to me via email. NVC stated that I need to contact the embassy and they do not have any info for me.

I would appreciate if anyone has anything other then I have tried so far to get a hold of someone at the London Embassy.

Thank YOu.

Maybe you should call the Dept of State which is over the embassy and ask if they can contact London on your behalf. Remind them that London made all those changes to their phone numbers and contacts last week and you are getting nowhere.

Dept of State in the US 202-663-1225 press 1, then 0

Have you called these numbers?

Callers within the United Kingdom should dial 020 3608 6998

Callers from the United States should dial 703-439-2367

Nich NIck.. THank you for your response.

I have called the numbers you mentioned and use that contact info on the website as well. I have also contacted the new email address they have for the courier service.

I will call the dept of state number you mentioned as that is the only one I have not.

Thanks again

I'm so sorry you have been having so many issues :( I agree they are now TERRIBLE to get hold of!! I'm trying desperately to contact them to get an earlier interview date and have had one very useless email in response. I do have a few suggestions:

Try contact them via twitter, I have had a response or two from them there @USAinUKCGCorner and according to them The new call center number is: 020 3608 6998

I waited for 1.5 hours on that number with NO response.

I contacted the medical place at Knightsbridge and they gave me this number - 0207 499 9000

I haven't tried it, but be careful as it is charged at £1.5 per min apparently.

I have asked via a contact in our senators office (Senator Casey) which is probably something you want to do as you have waited so long. I'm not sure yet if she has had a response as she has been away n holiday and only comes back tomorrow.

The email address I got a response from my online query was LondonInfoUnit@state.gov which I haven't seen anywhere else online so hopefully it will be read. The emails I've sent to LondonIV@state.gov and LondonConsular@state.gov haven't been responded to in 2 weeks.

For the LondonInfoUnit@state.gov email, They say they will not reply if the original query didn't come from the online form, but put all caps in your subject line and give it a go!!

I'm so sorry I can't be more useful! If you do get through on the expensive line and they give you a code I would appreciate it of you could pass it on :) we don't have the money to spend on such an expensive line unfortunately! :)

Good luck and let me know how it goes!!

NIck,

I tried the state dep number and the lady told me that we are still in AP. I have a hard time believing her and I could be wrong but why would they ask for another police report and medical and then ask for her passport be sent in if we are still in AP.

Jenny .... the expensive code will not work anymore. the last one I had was prior to July 22nd and they never responded to that email. I have used the website visa contact info section and they have not responded.

I will contact the number knightbridge gave you to see what happens.

Great, good luck!

If it helps, the email address I gave you that was in response to my question via their online contact I of section only replied on Wednesday the 7th to an email I sent them on July 26th, if that gives you an idea of how quickly they respond and if they may see your query soon.

I really hope you can get this sorted, I've got my fingers crossed for you :)

Well the LondonInfoUnit@state.gov was the email address response I received from my online query. I sent them a reply to their email on Wednesday and have yet to hear anything back from them.

Also got the email deleted without being read response, as well as a second one that said this:

We aim to respond to routine enquiries in 3-4 working days, more complex enquiries may take longer.

I haven't heard anything back from them yet, but then again (if you don't count the Wednesday) this is only day 3.

Get hold of your local senator or congressman and explain your situation to them too, sign a waver for them to ask for info on your behalf and hope they have some sort of magical connection with London we don't. I'll let you know tomorrow what response my contact in our senators office gets from London, if any!

I'm also so angry at how terrible they are to get hold of!

I did send an email to USCIS.London@uscis.dhs.gov and got a response within hours, but it was useless:

You need to contact the visa unit. Please see the following link for information on contacting them: http://london.usembassy.gov/niv/contact_page.html.

Perhaps try them anyway?

I also sent 2 letters 2 weeks ago and haven't heard anything back from them either!!

AP is unusual for London, AP this long I have never seen before.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

so I finally received a response after three and half weeks

Thank you for your inquiry,

On receipt of your passport, the Immigrant Visa Unit determined that new information, which had developed since your passport was requested, meant that additional administrative processing of your application is necessary. This processing is mandatory and cannot be waived or expedited. You will be notified once the processing of your application has been completed.

the only thing that has changed since our interview was that,

I am a US government Contractor and currently live in Kuwait, so my wife has moved to Kuwait with me.

is this additional AP because of her moving to another country? From what I know one is not forbidden to travel while being in process is it?

when she moved to Kuwait it was a on a visitors visa, but she was offered a job here so she decided to stay in the mean time.

Do we need to report her moving to Kuwait and Employment?

The AP is often triggered by the DS-157 where you list countries lived or visited, and certain jobs and such as that. So they cleared her then found out there is a move to a middle eastern country now. Yes, I think the move, visa, and employment is the reason. If she had taken a two week visit to the US, then that wouldn't be an issue. It is the Middle East connection. She did exactly the thing that lands one in AP in the first place.

And to the Boiler comment above-- I'm aware of at least a dozen I can name who had AP from London.

Nick,

Do you think there is anything I Do besides waiting.. any suggestions..

I know I don't have it as bad as a lot of people who wants to Immigrate to the US because we will be here for a while. My only worry is when we do end up going home that she can come with us.

Do I need to report to them somehow that she has moved here and no longer lives in London, any suggestions?

thanks

I think I lost the plot. I thought you sent her passport in July. If it had stamps or a visa to Kuwait in it, then that's how they know without you telling them. They must be doing further security checks. I have never known of anybody who tried any method to get information on AP, or how long, or to expedite it, that was successful. The answer was always wait.

On a different note-- If your job is often overseas, have you studied how it will affect her permanent residence by not living in the US? A greencard can be revoked by not meeting certain requirements.

Here is what happend.

she had her interview in August of 2012. She told the interviewee that I work in Kuwait..and she will be joining me soon. I think that was the first reason he put her in AP. HE did say she wasn't denied and would need to just provide a domicile in the states and a new affidavit which we sent in. My home of record is stateside. all bank accounts etc. at the interview they didn't keep her passport but gave it back to her.

she traveled to Kuwait in October and was offered a job here so she stayed. she did go back to do another medical and police check when they asked in APril of this year and then came back to Kuwait.

in June they asked for the passport which i mailed to her parents in London and they sent it ot the embassy.. that is where we are.

we haven't considered that and i know its something i should think of.. we were hoping to get her GC then leave after a few months and get an extension.
