hello appreciate any help my mother in law file I-130 for daughter she doesnt work does she fill out 1-864 and me the joint sponser fill out I-864a or do we both fill out just a I-864 also on the basis for I864 confused if she put 1a or1e thanks gets confusing thanks everyone

mom is the petitioner and primary sponser, so that's 1 I-864 from her, even at 0 dollar amount.

now, you are the co-sponser or joint-sponser - yer asking WHICH I-864 to use on you, yes?

IIRC, the I-864A is used only if you and the primary sponser live in the same household, same address. Otherwise, you utilize the I-864.

The I-864a is ONLY if you are combing income with the person. Aka husband and wife who file taxes together. Family members who declare each other on taxes. Direct family members, not in-laws. Do the I-864.

Also please, is your mother in law a USC or a green card holder? This isn't the right forum for this thread and I'd like to get it where it belongs. :D Thanks so much.
