Good morning everyone!

Yesterday, after a long long wait (11 months!) i received my Welcome to the United States letter saying my application has been approved and my permanent resident card is in the post. Does this mean i don't need to attend any interview? Is it all over? Can this really be it?!?!

Yes! You're pretty much done! Former k1 visa holder's like us, we've the benefit to get our green card with or without interview. Usually takes a weeks to receive it after that notification. Now you can enjoy your 2 years free USCIS vacations :) my only advice to you is once you get it you can go to the SSN office and update your immigration status to LPR (you will get a new card same number) and if you got your driver license with your ead, go to the DMV and get a new one base on your lpr status. They trade mu temporary driver's license for an 8 years dl :)

Enjoy your 21-month vacation from dealing with USCIS!!! Enjoy your lives together!!!

Take a look at the ROC date calculator at the bottom of my signature. It can be useful in planning for the next step in the process….. 21 months away! Yeah!!!

Happy trails. smile.png

Yes, that could really be it !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

And adding to the above post #2, start saving evidence of your co-mingling of assets and lives. You will submit documentation that covers the next two years for removing conditions. You don't want to get to that point in 2015 and not have some 2013 bank statements, utility bills, joint credit cards, auto insurance in both names. Just throw things you get like that in a file or box. Then in 2015, you'll have a stash to organize into a nice packet. It doesn't have to be every single thing you get, but a nice sampling covering two years of you having the same address and mixing your money in joint accounts or having joint leases, credit cards, beneficiary statements, cars, insurance, travel ....whatever you might have.
