Sorry for the inconvenience, but I just want to make sure of something. It says requirements to apply for a legal capacity of marriage is a divorce decree(s) or death certificate(s) What if I have never been married? That means I don't need to bring one right? (I may of just answered my own question) but I'm just real nervous. Please help me. Thanks!

For the I-129F petition, you do not need to provide anything that shows you are single if you have not previously been married. If you have, then you need the divorce decree or death certificate to prove you are now single and free to marry.

You mentioned bring though. Bring where exactly? It would help to give specific more accurate answers if you fill in your timeline so we know where you are in the process and which consulate you will be going though.

Depends on the country. A USC doesn't need to show proof they've never been married, just that they're free to marry after divorce or being widowed. In some countries they give a certificate (or the like) saying you're divorced or single.

Sorry I should of been more specific, it's just for the appearance in the Manila embassy.

I am going to send this thread over the Philippines regional forum because Manila does require proof of being single. You will get the best answers there.

Not sure what you are referring to. Your timeline has no info, neither does your profile.
