Dear All members.

is there someone in here who has experience used co-sponsor for K1 visa? It will be denied or approved by embassy if the U.S Citizen using co-sponsor?

My fiance is studying with financial aid and works but only part time that is why we are using his step dad as a co-sponsor. His step dad income is more than income minimum.

Thank you

If using a co-sponsor was a reason to deny your visa then why would they give you the option to have a co-sponsor? That would not make sense.

Because it depends on the embassy. IN Western Europe, such as your country, co-sponsors are almost always allowed. In Asia, they are often not allowed for the K1. I am unsure about Indonesia but I know Manila and Vietnam US embassies usually deny K1 visas if a co-sponsor is needed. The only time they MAY allow it is if the co-sponsor is a close relative and the primary sponsor/ petitioner has great earning potential soon, such a graduating with good job prospects this year.

That's another proof of how unfair and ridiculous this process can be. I really hope things work out for the OP.
