I was wondering. After my fiance arrives here on a K1 visa and we get married. Do you know if we can travel right after marriage on a honeymoon, even if we havent started the AOS processs or have any advance payroll yet? We want to go to Puerto Rico Island which is part of the U.S.. Would it be a problem to go there a day or two after our wedding???

Puerto Rico is a Commonwealth of the United States. It's just like traveling to another state. You might see that in the airport will say "international flight" but when you arrive to SJU you'll go through normal security and you don't have to present your passport, only and ID. We are American citizens and our currency is the dollar.

Good Luck :) enjoy my paradise!

I was advised (by an immigration lawyer) to stay on the mainland until I have a travel document or AOS. You should be able to do what you want but it may make them ask you questions. You will need some picture ID and the obvious thing is your passport, just may make it awkward I was told.

Good luck and let us know how it went.

Nope you don't need a passport (USC) or green card or AP anything like that to travel to Puerto Rico!

Also Hawaii and Alaska are states so you can travel to them just like you're travelling around the mainland.
