Good day.

(Moderator, please move to the appropriate forum if necessary - Thank you)

I've read several posts in regards to difficulties paying the $165 fee. I paid my fees yesterday and my case shows "Under review".

1/ How long does it take for the status to change to "Optimized" and what exactly does that mean?

2/ My payment has already posted on my online account credit card charges. Is there anything else I need to do or simply wait for the Green Card and SSN to arrive in the mail?

Thank you,

James

for the green card, wait.

for the SSN - you could always go in to a SSA office 2 weeks after POE date, and have a go with an application.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

we paid the IV fee almost two weeks back and ours is still showing as "accepted"

I do not expect this to change until after we POE and the green card has been issued.

Thanks Darnell. Yes, we'll wait for the Green Card. We thought there was a box we checked on the I-130 requesting an SSN card be issued. I'll have to look over the I-130 paperwork we'd submitted and if not, we'll brave the lines and bureaucracy and apply for one in person at the Social Security office..

Yeah, mine shows "accepted" also...but we paid ours only yesterday. I'm curious how long it takes to change to "optimized" and what that means. I printed out the tracking email and will keep it handy. If that's the case that the status might not change until after the POE entry, then we'll just be patient. Thanks for your input.

I'm just wondering if I need to change/update something on the ELIS after I enter the US? Mine still says "Accepted" but I paid the fee back in Jan.6 and my POE was Feb.7. I'm just wondering how long will it take before the status changes to "Optimized".

Thanks.
