Just wanted to add my progress for anyone thats interested since yesterday - when we got our Case number 28 days after receiving NOA2 and 6 days after receiving notification that it had been shipped from TSC to NVC:

- Status at NVC had changed to 'In Transit' by the end of the business day, which I take to mean its now enroute to the embassy in London (w00t!)

- With the Case number I booked medicals for myself and my two kids with Knightsbridge Doctors just after 9am this morning - first available appointment date was Weds 7 Aug.

Thanks for the pointer to look at the London forums too. GL everybody.

Hello Fellow VJ,

When would you recommend the medical record to be set like 2- 3 weeks out from the date it was sent to embassy? I will call the NVC now and get more details is there any specifics I should ask for? Also I can track my case the the DHL with the case number too right? your so helpful thanks

Currently, London medical is scheduling appointments for August 7 (from a post I read today. They are generally 2 weeks out most of the time. If you schedule your medical once you have your number you should be fine as it usually takes less than 2 weeks from the day they assign your number until it's received in London. It all really just depends on how big of a hurry you're in.

Well we are in a big hurry b/c my Fiance's student Visa will soon expire and He and I would hate for him to pay over $6000 in student visa fees and school if we have faith that he will be able to come here so that would be a waste of $. But nothing is set in stone so we are kinda winging it and hope everything works out well with the timing. I wonder if we talk to the U.S. Embassy about his student visa he will get a quicker interview. We are just going by fate b/c God forbid he is not able to come after interview, plan B would be for me to go live with him there and in that case he would want to continue his education...

But thanks for your guidance! :)

Good luck in your journey!!!

I wonder if the reason why cases are delayed being sent to NVC is because TSC employees working from home. They only go into work to turn in completed forms and pick up new cases.

Hey, so you put in your case number and make sure that above says "immigrant visa" link: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?

It works from the beginning. When they haven't sent it yet it says "at NVC" and when they sent it it says "in transit". I got my case number friday and it was "at NVC" till monday and monday it changed to "in transit". Since they use DHL express it doesn't take long to get to the embassy BUT maybe it's different from embassy to embassy.

I think they say two weeks for those people who don't check online and to keep them from calling back. It takes 2-3 days to get it sent, a week to get to the embassy and another few days for the embassy to contact the applicant stating their readiness for the applicant to file the forms. This is about 2 weeks so if they get people to wait 2 weeks they won't have to call back asking where it is. At least that's my theory
