While updating my timeline and reading about people's visa process in the past, I realized my wife and I may have skipped some steps. This is all good, we have a lawyer, and there's no problems.

I just wanted to bring this up in case someone else has seen this.

We never received an I-864 or DS-3032.
After NVC got our case, they eventually emailed me and told me to pay the AOS and IV Fee online. Then I completed and sent back a DS-230 with all required documents and am waiting for an interview date for my wife.
Basically, I had about 2 months between when NVC said they had my I-130 approved, and when they contacted me again with the AOS fee, IV Fee, and instructions on the DS-230.
A lot of that stuff on the visa forums timeline about the I-864 did not apply, and I don't even know what a DS-3032 is.

Because you have a lawyer you don't get a DS-3032. Also because of that your IV invoice and AOS invoice were invoiced at the same time. Most of us here are DIY and spend a great deal of time contacting the NVC making sure we're able to send things out ASAP so that we don't lose any time by waiting for the NVC to contact us. Also some of the things in the VJ timeline are obsolete as most people don't wait anymore for forms to be sent to them and download the form themselves.

Having a lawyer doesn't omit you sending in forms. You say you didn't do a Affidavit of Support? Really. So you sent in no tax transcripts, employment letter, pay stubs.

I am sure your lawyer did. Otherwise why did you hire one.

In many cases lawyers slow the process down.
