Hi, we are preparing to send in our two sets of documents to the NVC. When the beneficiary goes to the interview at the embassy, will he need all the original documents from the NOA process as well? And, we are required to send a certified copy of the marriage certificate to the NVC, will we have to order an additional (original) certified marriage certificate to bring to the interview? The same for all documents, we ordered them, and now must send them in, so how do we bring the originals to the interview?

Also, one more question, I am doing the AOS with assets only and a co-sponsor. What documentation will prove the assets (money in a checking account) and how will the cosponsor prove income (my Mom has 3 years of IRS transcripts and is retired-retirement benefits are above the poverty level guidelines).

Thanks for any good advice out there.

We sent in copies but they later requested originals so we had to send in the originals (his birth certificate + our marriage certificate). They will return the originals at the embassy interview. As for a co-sponsor, I had to submit 3 years of my mom's taxes and also needed a letter from her employer. We received our interview date and with it there is a checklist as to what documents they will need on the day of the interview (if they are missing any).

good luck!

The originals you send in to the NVC will be forwarded to the embassy for your interview. If you send in certified copies then you will need to bring the originals in for the interview.
