My wife and I are about to apply for the CR-1 Visa. We have no common resources, property, or children, so as far as we can tell our support will rely on the affidavits we get from friends and family. How many affidavits should we try to obtain? Should it be a mix of Canadian and US? Can the majority be from family? What can we tell our supporters to submit in their affidavits?

Other evidence we can submit are thousands of pictures from our time together and our travels, and tickets showing that over the last 6 months we have been visiting each other about every week and a half for extended times. What other evidence can any of the VJers suggest?

Thank you guys! We are so excited to start our lives together!!heart.gif

Reread the evidence needed and affidavits should be form USC's. Especially see what others have submitted and see Darnells entries for your type of filing.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

quality representation of your relationship over time, not so much quantity and seeing how many pictures and trips have been made, that should be easy for you

it is debatable if affidavits work, but if they make you more comfortable than it's fine

you will eventually need to file affidavit of support which is financial sponsorship and prove domicile, or proof or re-domicile by the time you get past immigration and into the visa part of the paperwork

It just seems as though the top categories (financial, property, children) are not factors in our relationship currently.

So pictures of us together, enjoying each others company and such would provide good evidence? I just want this to go as smoothly as possible since finding out how long of a waiting period it was from application to immigration nearly killed our last visit together when we started planning things out (whose moving where and what not).

I shouldn't have any problem with the affidavit of support financially but I will be moving in August but I have a permanent residence I can put down initially and change afterwards am I correct?
