There are no laws limiting the amount of times one can travel to the United States, correct? So long that the one travelling is within the 90 day time limit?

My British boyfriend will be visiting for the 3rd time, on Tuesday. He was just here, in April. So far, he has had no problems from officers, but I'm a bit concerned. After this visit, it will be well over a year before he returns. We've always followed the rules and he has always left after his visit has ended. I'm just really nervous. (even though I always am each time)

Unfortunately, those of us with foreign spouses/partners have reason to be concerned when it involves reentering in such a short time. I have no doubt that you guys know the rules and are abiding by them, but due to all the losers that abuse the system we have to pay for it when a USCIS officer raises his eyebrow at your boyfriend.

Did he stay the full 90 days in April or did he only do a month or two? The officer might suspect he's abusing the VWP if he stayed the full 90 days and especially if it was within the past few months.

Most important thing at POE is that your boyfriend can prove to the officers that he'll be returning to the UK ASAP. (Buuuut, don't have him bring things like birth certificates..things that can be used to establish domicile in the US during his stay. that sets off red flags with them.)

There is no limit as such, but they may get suspicious if he travels a lot (I once got pulled into secondary inspection and interrogated because I travelled 5 times in a rolling year, though most trips were only long weekends). More important is how long you stay inside the US on each visit- rule of thumb is to stay out longer than you were inside the USA, and you should be ok.

He has never stayed more than 90 days. He was here for a month and a week when he left in April. So he was definitely away longer than he was here. This visit will be the longest visit (2 months) however, it will be well over a year before he returns, as he is immediately off to Germany to study abroad, in the beginning of September. I'll be going back over there the next time.

He'll be arriving at a different airport, today, so I'm a bit anxious. We've never had a problem with the people at the usual airport that he has gone through for immigration, so you can understand why I'm anxious

Other than that, I have no other concerns.

He should be ok so long as he is not spending more time in the US than at home. Having said that, admission into the US is always subject to the CBP officer's discretion, which means your boyfriend should be able to back up any claims he makes upon entering the US in regards to return date, purpose of his trip, etc.

Well he should be fine then....especially if he's brought along his "confirmation" of his enrollment in the German University. It's gonna be a looong day for you but you'll be in his arms later. :)
