Hi all, just wanted to give you an update on our situation. My Husband had his Oath Ceremony at Faneuil Hall in Boston on Thursday and is was an emotional and moving end to the process. The USCIS officers and Judge were extremely kind and caring. Just sad that we all couldn't be together as a family. I still hadn't heard about Oath Dates for myself and my two sons, so I hounded one poor USCIS officer at the ceremony who took us back to the USCIS offices after the ceremony and managed to schedule them for us, there and then. SO : December 5th again at Faneuil Hall Boston. Very very excited, especially as my son is studying abroad starting in January!!!

Thanks to one very patient and kind USCIS officer.

This is so exciting for me! My interview is in Boston on 4th Dec, I wonder if I could give me the same date as well.

Some lawyer told me that most cases are usually not ready for approval though at the time of interview (as for as taking oath is concerned the same day) but the reports I have seen, most people are approved at the interview and scheduled for oath. I hope that's the case with me too.

We were told at our interview in Boston that we should receive an oath letter within two weeks.... it took a month to get my husbands, and we never received ours???!! It appears that most in Boston do need to wait to be approved. There were over 300 at Faneuil Hall on Thursday and it seems there are ceremonies nearly every week..... it's a busy office :)

I would ask at the interview if you can be scheduled there and then..... you have nothing to lose :)
Good luck

Here you are suppose to book an appointment where you can arrive only 15 mins earlier not sooner. I takes a day or maybe 2 to take this appointment. Than sometime you can take passport by 4:30 and other time they tell you to come next day or in couple of days. i don't know if this maybe the same service?

From what I've read about the Boston office, no it's not like that at all. You can read reviews and get a lot of information about the Boston office here: http://www.yelp.com/biz/passport-agency-boston

It is a lot like the LA process, they do offer same day service (pick up passport at 4:30pm same day), but they seem very strict, cell phone must be off, you must have all documents in hand, and yes, you do have to bring confirmation of your flight. If you don't need same day service, you can always use the regular passport service and receive your passport within 4 weeks.

Everything went very smoothly. The four of us had our interviews on the same day, but one of my sons was later in the day, so were were there quite a while, and it was very busy. They did seem to move things along quickly and most of the time was taken up with the wait.... approximately an hour. The interviews themselves were much easier than I thought. There were many USCIS officers, some more welcoming that others. 6/6 questions, some of us getting the same questions. They go through your application in detail, so it may be work reviewing it before you go. We didn't need any extra photos, as some do. They do like to look at your passport, but hand it back. I think each of us were in an out within 15 minutes. Then off to the Bell in Hand for a celebratory pint :)

Hope this helps.

Oath was fine, it was just... meh. I wasn't all emotional or hyped about becoming a US citizen, like other people. I also have a bad cold, so I feel like #######. I literally sat down and wished for it to be super short and simple, and it was. So happy it's over and done with now, though. Good luck with your clinical! I am traveling out of the country on Wednesday, picking my passport up on Monday. I don't think they keep the certificate for same day service, and I sure hope they don't staple it!

Oh goody... lol @ the certificate.

how long did your oath ceremony last at philly?

we made an appointment for a passport and wondering if 3 hours is enough, because it's about 4 miles away

"When applying for a U.S. passport in person, evidence of U.S. citizenship must be submitted with Form DS-11. All documentation submitted as citizenship evidence will be returned to you. These documents will be delivered with your newly issued U.S. passport or in a separate mailing."

I get that but did ya have to staple it; now Im dreading rips and tears lol

"Bring a photocopy of the front and back of each ID document that you will present when you apply."

And this crockery cuz we technically arent supposed to copy our naturalization certs

I didnt attend the oath in philly due to me going on vacation. Instead, it was held in Wilmington DE.

I'll tell you what I experienced nonetheless. Honestly, it lasted about 3-3 31/2 due to the fact that there was an actual program preceeded by each person, individually having to go and sign their certificate. And during the program (singing, dialoques, etc) each person was again presented with the offical "welcome to america" packet so it took a while.

Me, show off? Never! content.gif

Thanksgiving was good, spent 6 hours cooking, and then stuffing myself afterwards. My 3 year old loves to help.

I went to walmart around 4pm, and, it was just one big clusterf**k. I hate that place. I walked in, saw everyone hovering around everything like vultures, and walked right out. I went to the Christmas isle to look at decorations, and all the people lined up were giving me the stink eye, as if I was trying to cut in line. Thank goodness for online shopping lol I don't do black Friday.
