2012 tax transcript

Does anyone know how long it takes for the 2012 tax transcript to be available after tax return is filed?

We ordered it a first time and it wasn't there but my fiance hadn't received his return yet. He ordered it again a few days ago, about 2 weeks after he received his tax return on his account.

Are we going to have it anytime soo? if not how do i do for my interview?

Generally they are pretty good at getting them out quickly, I think I've normally waited 2 weeks but sometimes as long as a month before getting it. If possible, and anyone who knows chime in please, he could give you a copy of the papers he filed. If he did it online with a service like turbo tax, he can print a copy of it from their website.

I was able to order my transcripts about 3 weeks after my taxes were filed electronically. I just kept trying to order them everyday until it finally went through. The transcripts arrived in the mail just a few days later.

He didn't do it online and has no copy of what he sent.

yea it is usually between 5 to 10 days. My problem is, is it available at the moment? he got his return only a couple weeks ago.... i need it for my interview how do i do without it? Can i bring his W2 instead and explain that there was no way to get the tax transcript...

I think it went through when he ordered it. The first time they only sent him 2010 and 2011. If we have nothing coming next week i guess it means it is not available.

I would suggest requesting it again. They're free. And if it doesn't show up in time, then bring a copy of his return and his W2 and explain that the transcript wasn't available yet. Also reordering it will be good in case they need you to bring it back.

Yea i will tell him to send me his W2, he doesn't have a copy of his return since he sent it. I hope they won't bother me with this because it is not our fault IRS is working slowly.

Plus by the I134 instructions, it doesn't say anything about tax return but employment letter etc... so is it really required? I just told him to get them because i saw that on VJ

The first time they sent the transcripts really fast so hopefully we get it sometimes next week

I had to paper file my 2012 Fed income return in mid-February. I ordered my 2012 income tax transcript in mid-March, it showed up in about 10 days.

He can also walk into an IRS office, request his 2012 transcript and walk out of the office with them in his hand.

oh sweet i didn't know that. The problem is that he works all week from 7 to 5 and has about an hour of commuting so that sucks.
