~ Jan ??,2013 ~ Service Center ~ Vermont I-129F Packet sent

NOTE: Actual sent date unknown due to lawyer negligence - I delivered ALLForms and PAID Lawyer on Nov 7, 2012 - Lawyer kept saying he sent the packet and USCIS must have lost it. When in reality he failed to send the package and only a new copy to USCIS after I made a legal written demand giving him 10 days to perform or return ALL monies paid to him, due to "non-performance".

(IMO it's better to save your money for visits to or from your Fiancé and just fill it out yourself using the K-1 Guide on VJ and Senior Members... They Rock!!!)

For example we were approved on June 17 th

I received an email saying that they haven't received our case yet and with th new system of booking appointments online w won't have an appointment until September .... So that is almost 2 and half months AFTER approval ......

Hey Angelina!! Hope you are doing great!! You're almost there!! Well I guess you "He" is almost here!! :-D

What you say may have been true back then.. but if you do a detailed timeline search.. right now it seems they finally found their rhythm and are getting down!!! Most cases after Mid/Late June are in and out of NVC and at the Consulate in under a few weeks after NOA 2. So we are moving again!!! WooHoo..

And as far as websites.. I think theier Admin quit!! LOL Because my case still shows as untouched since July 15th and as Review Pending and I was approved on the 18th of July and got the NOA2 in hand on the 22nd.

Search Timelines you guys, you'll see. Get the "Detailed View"

I received this last night:

On July 24, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.

Three weeks ecactly after approval, my file finally shipped to NVC. Now, on with the journey!

Great news! Congratulations!!!

2 questions if you don't mind:

1) Our dates are pretty similar, did you get transferred to TSC at all??

2) Where did you receive that message? e-mail?, phone? USCIS website (does the website show any change in your post-activity status?)?

The reason I am asking is because we have the e-mail/phone notifications activated and nothing has happened so far, we got our NOA2 like 10 days ago and never got a notif.

thanks!!! and congrats again!!

It feels like they pick and choose when updates happen and when they don't. We are signed up for notifications and got them for some, but never for our actual APPROVAL! So i don't think it is uncommon. We did however get the notification of it being sent to the Department of State for visa processing so that was a bonus!

On a side note - has anyone got their packet 3 info? I have just been trawling this site and gathering everything i possibly can to get it ready to ship to the consulate ASAP when it arrives. I have been using the US Consulate link for Australians regarding info etc and I have my police record certificate already and my medical booked for next week... but it is always nice to hear from someone first hand rather than trawling and reading over old notes etc.

I have been reading the argentinian embassy file for K-1 visa, it is very helpful and descriptive... maybe you should go into the Australian website to see if they already have a list of things you should bring and in what order... as an example, I will attach the file I found most helpful in my country's website. Hope this helps.

On another note, are you sure your doctors are 'embassy approved'? at least for Argentina that seems to be a pretty big deal, which is why they have us go to the doctors that are approved in Buenos Aires 2 days before the interview.

Yes, my doctor appointment is with the only approved US Consulate doctors in Brisbane. I had to book weeks in advance. I have already checked and my medical is valid for 6 months from doing it also, so it should give me plenty of breathing room. I am going away for almost 3 months, hence why I am doing it now and not when I return. I just want it sorted and squared away and when i go to my consulate interview there is no running around prior. As I am based in Brisbane I have to fly to Sydney for my consulate interview - and i hate Sydney, so i don't really want to waste spending money and days hanging around there just for the run around for consulate stuff when i can do it in Brisbane and take it with me. Fly in fly out :)

I have been using this link http://canberra.usembassy.gov/fiance_niv_appl.html to get the info from for Australians. It would be similar to your Argentinian one. I was just curious to see if anyone else had started this process and any hurdles they may have come across from a personal perspective.
