Any ideas how long it takes to process I-485 after marriage on K1 visa?

How long after submitting usually the green card arrives?

It can take up to a year or so when filing for adjustment from a K visa.

It seems they have a 50-50 chance of either receiving a green card in the mail (this takes longer but requires no interview in the US) or attending an interview at their local office before the green card is granted (this track is shorter).

When you submit your AOS you will also want to apply for EAD/AP card ( work permit and travel card) There is no charge for these when submitted with the I485. A couple of weeks after submitting your AOS you will get an appointment letter for your Biometrics. Your EAD/AP card usually comes 2-3 months after the biometrics appointment. If you are one of the lucky ones you will get a letter in the mail sometime after your biometrics appointment scheduling you for an interview usually just a few months after your initial application is submitted. The green card is approved at the interview and comes in the mail shortly after. so, about 4 months or so total processing time.

If your application is determined not to need an interview (it is not really known how that is decided) then it will remain at the National benefits center for processing and you will be issued your green card when they get around to it. Right now it is taking 9 months to one year. You will want to make sure you apply for EAD/AP so you can work and travel outside the US while waiting for the green card.

so, to answer your question, it could take anywhere from a couple of months to one year
