Change of Address - USC living abroad

Hi!

My USC husband - who's living in the UK for his studies - is moving out to live with me in France.

We have received the NOA1 and waiting for the NOA2.

He can't change the address online as he is not living in the US and as his UK address was on the I-130 form. And he can't send an AR-11 as it seems to be for aliens.

He is going to call the USCIS National Service Customer Center (1-800-375-5283) and see if he can change it on the phone. It looks like it's the only solution.

Does anyone know how to proceed?

If he calls that number and they try to make him change his address to a US one, he needs to not listen to any garbage about how he cannot have a foreign address.

They WILL try to make him put a US address, and probably won't allow him to change it to a foreign one. Don't change it to a US address - if he does, there's the possibility that the local office could call your husband in for an interview, which would require him to fly back to the USA to attend it, or else the visa would get denied. Is there any way he could stay there until you guys get NOA2? Since you filed from abroad, it should be coming along any day now. After he got the hard copy NOA2 in the mail, he could just update his address on the DS230.

I think in this case the best way is to ask the landlord to keep his mails.

As long as we can change the address after it should be fine!

Will he receive many mails from the USCIS after the NOA2?

Nope! That should be the last one. Wait until your case gets the case number assigned at NVC after NOA2, and then you should be able to call and update the address without any problem, or just put the new address on the DS230 and it will automatically update after you send in the IV package.

We have a similar case with you. At the end of this month, we are moving to a different apartment while waiting for our NOA2. We received our NOA1 back in April. Have you changed your address to an address in U.S or not?
