I hate to bring the bad news but it doesn't mean much. I received that same message back on march 7, 20013 and still did not get anything yet. I received a notice of action with my A# two months ago and nothing still. I am still a little luckier than most of you because I am currently living with my fiancée in Montreal on a Canadian temporary work permit until this summer, so I am hoping that my case will get approved soon.

Aw man I wish I saw intiial review! Its been 6 months since our NOA1 and it still states case not found. I keep it open and keep checking because I heard that even if its not found once they touch your file they update the website so it is. I hope thats true. Anyways good luck and don't worry good things ahead is all that means breath out!!!

We got this message march 15 and got approved 3 days later. It does positive. But its a killer waiting for what happens next. So don't make to much trouble out of it. Thing positive. At least someone is looking at your case :-)

Pretty much ANY change at this point in the process is good as long as it's not a denial. Anything else means they have actually done something with your case.

More recent filers are getting that number change message shortly after filing, so we don't know ours is being looked at until we get either the approval or the RFE.

Since they are doing SOMETHING with your case, it's HIGHLY likely, as others have said, that you'll see some sort of notification very soon. We won't know if it's an RFE or an approval until they send it, but either thing means you are much closer than most of us.

Best of luck

We sent our petition on Sep 26 2012 and got out NOA1 Oct 18 2012.

Today I checked and it says

"On May 2, 2013, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance."

and our paper is still on INITIAL REVIEW.

What does it mean???

They reset our date?? We've been waiting for almost 7 months! Does it mean we are going to wait for another 7 months again?

Dont worry i have the same problem before too but after 2 days i was approved.

It can go from Initial review to post decision... I think you are about to get an RFE or approval pretty soon :) Keep your fingers crossed good.gif

Are you familiar with the post-approval process?

No. Unfortunately not.

You could be using this time to study up on the post-approval process.

There's a shortcut that could save you a month or more.

I checked up my status of my K-1 Visa online today (my fiance, the USA Resident, put in our Visa application) and ours says the same thing as yours.....

BUT in the little scroll section thingy/screen directly underneath the status it also said "During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators".

It also shows we're on the Initial Review part too - my fiancé received a mobile message on 25th April that our file had moved from Texas to the Vermont Processing Office. He received the approval (?) letter that it had passed the first process and that no other information was needed at that time (I'm guessing it was the Nao1 approval letter??).

Maybe a change in the Alien Registration Number is because they've finished the background checks and going on to the next step??? I'M GUESSING :$

So like you, I'm not sure what this means and when the proper time to follow it up is, so I'll be checking and refreshing it regularly too smile.png

You're not alone.

Fingers and toes crossed that we all get the "final Yes-You-Can-Be-With-The-One-You-Love approval", as soon as we can. biggrin.png

I just saw the posts about 15 days - so I might give my refresh button a rest and check again in 15 days. :/

Hi. :)

Someone just told me that when the date changes that just means they touched it. Or someone is actually looking though your files because they have to scan the bar code etc.

I am hoping for a really positive result soon.. :((

That's what they told my fiancé that they are going to call but I doubt it. We are just going to wait for 15days. IF there is nothing we will call them again.. sigh*** getting really frustrated.
