This is my first post here, so I apologise if I have written this in the wrong section. I'll try not to take up too much of your time (those of you that are reading!)

I'm a British citizen, and in October 2012 I married my U.S. citizen wife in London (she is entitled to live and work here for two years), and we currently both live together in the United Kingdom (London) where I am a university student and she works full-time in the City. At the moment we both want to move to the United States (she misses NYC badly!) but we will be waiting for me to get my degree, which should be at the end of the academic year 2013/14 - so just over a year away.

Can I ask what our next step is? I understand I will need to apply for a green card of some sort but I don't know any specifics. So if anybody knows any deadlines, costs, names of visas, or any general information which we can use I'll greatly appreciate it.

Many thanks for any and all the help we receive!

You can apply for a spousal visa directly through the consulate (It's actually now through the USCIS office attached to the Embassy). It is called Direct Consular Filing.
