Anyone succesful with the fee waiver? Suggestions and comments welcome!

Hello everyone, I used this forum before and it is an invaluable resource. I cannot remember my old user name, or the email I had it so I amde this one. Case in point: Has anyone been successful on getting the N-400 waived fee?

I tried getting the fee to my N-400 waived as I am unemployed at the moment (less than a year) I was laid off and I am also a college student.

I made less than 4,000 last year and I included the bills under my name : (water, electric...) Also, school and tuition expenses.

I own nothing, no assets and nothing at all.

Included:

Lease under my name with amount I must pay

Electric and water bill under my name

School tuition and expenses

Tax returns depicting my earning of less than 4000

Letter explaining circumstances of loss of job

I do not have means tested poverty or anything of that sort. Is there anything I should include or try? Or just give up and wait?

Any suggestion or comment welcome.

I've not heard of anyone get approved for the fee waiver, but there haven;t been many people on here asking either.

One question they will ask you is why you want/ need to become a citizen now? Ie why can't you just wait till you have the money?

Ah interesting! Actually, my main motivations are I've always wanted to be one. Also, there are scholarships that I cannot apply to since I am not an American citizen yet. :x Not all a few though.

if you don't send in the fee with your n-400 your file won't get processed and your n-400 will be returned to you.it's best to wait until you saved some money to file, there is no time limit to file for citizenship,

Hey, I have applied for the fee waiver and my application has been processed. I am currently waiting for my interview. If anything, I'll let you know about my experience

Oh I am not sure what went wrong with your application. I am a college student and unemployed as well. Actually one of my friend's friend helped me with the fee waiver. He is studying law..For my application, I sent my bank statement, my FAFSA report, a simple statement citing why I need the fee waiver, and of course the form for the fee waiver thats it Initially, I wasn't sure if I wanted to take the risk but then I have never worked for my entire life and have been depended on my parents. And yea, I don't file income tax on my own cuz I am dependent under my parents.

Thank you so much! I will retry with my FASFA (duh) should have done that, and my bank statement thank you so much. I did file taxes but made around 3,500 that whole year. thank you
