Hello,

I have a problem with my boyfriend annulment.. He was a victim of scam.. He is in Usa right now.. He paid a person 150 thousand to work for his annulment. The annulment was done and was registered in the National Statistics Office in the Philippines.. The problem was the lawyer invented everything from the paper.. And now we dont know what to do.. What if he will get denied because of the wrong action of that lawyer.. Pls help us.. Thank you..

Is the annulment even necessary, to register it in the PI ?

I ask, because since your boyfriend is a USCitizen (even though he married in the PI prior [my assumption])

then

the divorce is legal in the USA, and you two must be free and clear to marry in the USA.

Without the annulment in the PI, I think the two of you are free and clear to marry in the USA.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

1. Is your boyfriend a U.S. citizen?

2. Did he file a K-1 fiancée petition for you?

3. Did he ever get a divorce?

4. Does he have an annotated copy of his Filipino marriage certificate from the NSO showing his annulment?
