Hannah777, thanks for the quick response

No problem. I pretty much "live" on this site now. I know I have a whole lot more time to wait but I'm always hoping and watching to see approvals go through. You'll notice there is a constant debate about which service center is faster/slower. If you keep it in your head that you are going to be waiting a LONG time (at least 7 months before approval) then you won't be disappointed after reading the uscis site says they process in 5 months.

Hi all, I am just starting to really use this site instead of just peek at it :)

I'm an April filer, but I didn't notice this thread at first, so I was reading the March filers- but, I guess that works too because I'm on the cusp. I filed 4/1, NOA1 on 4/9, but I did not get anything saying alien number changed. . . . is that only for petitioners not born in USA?

Anyway, I'm a VSC girl, so excited to not be waiting alone :) And, yes Hannah, ashe!

~T

4/1/13 - I-129F sent to Lockbox, 4/5/13 - I-129F received, 4/9/13 - NOA1, 422/13 - Alien Reg # changed, 814/13 - RFE, 817/13 - RFE reply, 10/30/13 - NOA2, 1/30/14 - Interview: Approved!

Hi, welcome to the thread.

No, alien registration number stuff is not connected to the petitioner's country of birth. In fact, it means nothing much. After reading a little deeper, I noticed though that filers at CSC get their alien registration number changed more often than VSC. I might be wrong but, in any case, there is nothing to be worried about.

Hello everyone!

I joined the community yesterday and I'm happy to have stumbled upon this thread!

I was eager to find a place to chat with people who are going through the same emotions as I am.

My fiancé sent the I-129 F file on April 24 and it was received on April 26th. We are waiting for the USCIS to confirm.

I haven't seen him in 5 weeks today and it is getting harder and harder to be apart. I'm trying to keep myself busy, and this forum is just what I need to keep my spirits up.

Good luck to everyone!

It is hard to be away from our loved ones. I haven't been wtih my Fiance since Christmas and sometimes Skype, text and e-mail just doens't fill that need. We are debating another visit or save up so he can be here when I go for my interview then help me pack and move. It reallya ll depends on how long it all takes. We have the mind set that it could take another 6-9 months and aren't expecting anythign sooner, that way, if it does happen, it will be a blessing. I am probably one of the least patient people I know and it is torture sometimes but it helps to have all the support here.

The Alien Registration number means that your case was entered, thats about it. and if you don't get it till much later in the game then it tends to mean more but at this early stage of the game... no real meaning.

Welcome to all our new people. lets sit back and try to enjoy the ride, I think we have come to an agreement to try and be one of the first groups that doesn't gripe and complain about how long things will take. I know its hard but surely we can be a positive and supportive group.
