My fiancé went to his local general registration office and ask for the non-impediment paper and.he said that didnt have any idea what he was talking about and didnt know why he would need a paper like that. Also is it true that you can go.to kingston and get police record the same day? Because my fiance star far from kingston and it cost alot of money to get there. Thanks so much for the input.

Where does you Fiance live????

He was given false information because it is listed under their products and service for 5000 JMD. It is required from everyone, so they have to know what it is. It is the certificate of non-impediment, you get it at the Registrar General's Department. •No impediment certificate: An official certificate of the results of a search for marital status where the individual was not married. A letter is given if marriage is located.

Topic has been moved from the CR-1 forum to the K-1 forum as OP is asking about a fiancee visa not a spousal visa

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Ditto

Don't now if rural areas dept. of RGD issues the impediment certificate or it was an inept employee who gave that info to him
