My daughter and I filled our I-131 together with our AOS and EAD last January 31, 2013. I got my EAD card yesterday (March 29, 2013) but not for my daughter :(, and we also waiting for our I-131 as we will have our big Church wedding day for the second time in my home country by June and we will leave here by the end of May. Would it be possible to get our I-131 before that? Are we eligible to request to expedite now while its on process? It says it takes 90 days which will be on the 30th of April or should I wait for the normal process? Is the lawyer has power to do this if ever we got one? Thank you and I hope someone could help me.

Thank you and God bless... Happy Easter to all..

If you hear nothing by the end of April, I would be inclined to contact your local service center and make an Infopass appointment, taking your flight itinerary/tickets/wedding paperwork and requesting an I-551 (temporary visa) stamp, rather than risk leaving the US without your Advance Parole or green card. Many people have to leave on emergency family medical issues, so the service centers are used to people needing the stamp. :)

ROC

AR11 filed: 02/05/11

I-751 filed at Vermont Service Center: 02/07/11

NOA: 02/14/11

Biometrics appt: 03/21/11

RoC Interview: Not required

RoC Approved: 08/04/2011

10 yr Green card received: 08/10/2011

Thank you so much for the prompt response Brit. Anyway how easy/fast to get an Infopass appointment? and how long it takes to get this I-551 stamp? I'm really worried now but still hoping and praying that we will get our AP soon. One more question, anyone got denied by their AP application? What is usually the reason for that?

Thank you again. God bless

Incorrect. The I-551 stamp WILL NOT be given. The I-551 stamp isn't not a "temporary visa" stamp. it's a GREENCARD stamp. she does not have a greencard and therefore will not get a GC stamp.

The I-551 stamp does not apply to you.

If you need to leave you can ask for emergency (expedited) AP. You will need evidence of the emergency. If it's extremely emergent they'll process immediately, if it's not really emergent, it can take a couple of days... or you can get denied the expedite.

Thank you for the info Vanessa and Tony. We actually hired Lawyer to do all our application from the very start (K1/K2 visa) until now, and we applied our I-131 (AP) together with our aos, ead last January 31, 2013. Now, what do you think should I do if I didn't get my AP by the end of April? Is Church wedding will be valid reason to expedite it?

Thank you and God bless

Not usually no.

You said you have your EAD. It should say "serves as I-512 advance parole" on it. If so, that's your AP.

Make an INFOPASS to follow up on your daughters. http://infopass.uscis.gov/ The sooner the better just in case. you can ask them about expediting it and when they need to do that.

Sad to say but my EAD says "NOT VALID TO REENTRY TO U.S", so meaning I really need to have my AP (Hoping to get it soon).

I will make an INFOPASS appointment. I already called USCIS customer service hotline and talked to someone but he says, our AP are pending and he says EAD/AP usually takes 3 months though I already got my EAD early. One more thing, ALL our receipt number never become available online so I never ever check our case of where we at now that's why I been worrying a lot, but I also ask that problem to him and he says, he didn't see any negative impact with our application, so all I have to do is to wait. I'm being so paranoid and so worried what IF I don't get it by the end of April. :( I hope we will. God is good..

Thank you and happy easter
