I was living in Chile with my fiance last year and due to this I fell a bit short of the 125% poverty level to sponsor my fiance. We are preparing some forms now before we get married and right now we are living with my parents. I was told since we live with my parents if my father wants to help sponsor my fiance he would have to fill out form I-864A, Contract Between Sponsor and Household Member. Does he also have to fill out an I-864 or any other form or is the I-864A sufficient?

It's your current income that needs to meed the 125% poverty level. Not last year.

No, he does not have to fill out the I-864A. In fact, it is probably best if he fills out his own separate I-864 as the joint sponsor.
