I'm a Permanent Resident in Canada holding a Philippine Passport. I'm planning to travel from Canada to Dubai via US. I am required to have a transit visa to be able to enter the US and change flights. Can I use the transit visa twice including my return to Canada from Dubai via US? What to do? What appropriate visa to apply? I was told by their call centre agent that I will just inform the visa officer about my situation during the interview. I'm trying to apply for two (2) transit visa in the online application but it won't let me. Is there anyone with the same situation that can help me. Thanks.

If you mean you are a US LPR with a GC living in Canada, then you use the GC to enter the US. If you are a resident of Canada and want to travel thru the US on a PI passport then you will need to get a transit visa for each trip thru the US. It is like any country that requires a visa to enter, if you have a one-entry visa that means one-entry not two or three or ten. If you get a single entry transit visa then it is good for one-entry only. Maybe you need to apply for one visa and then apply for the second visa using the on-line system or maybe (gasp) the person was correct that you just go to the interview and tell the IO about the return trip and you will get a second visa issued at that time.

Good luck,

Dave

Old question but I have a query:

Can you apply for a transit and tourist visa at the same time? Do you pay one visa fee, or two?

It's cheaper to transit thru the US to Mexico than via Panama so we want to know if we can do both, or just apply for the B2.

One visa one fee

Not sure what the point of a C is when the standard for the B is the same.

Surely there must be Jamaica-Mexico flights that bypass US (airspace) completely, negating US visa requirement.

Have an overnight stopover in Panama. That's what I did when going to South America from NY.

Loved Panama City, hope to go back at some point.
