Hello.

I'm about to sending out I-485 for my wife, but I'm a full time college student and unable to find join sponsor for I-864. My wife's parents are willing to provide some cashes. I'm wondering if this works. If yes, what is minimum balances do I need to qualify? Does it have to be in my account or is it ok in my wife's bank account. Thanks

You will need a joint sponsor. I dont think a bank account only will satisfy the requirements

if you use a bank account to use assets to qualify they will likely ask to see a year (or perhaps longer) of bank account statements to ensure that the money was not deposited recently, as you are planning to do.

Money very recently deposited in your bank account will look highly suspicious- as if the parents are paying you to marry their daughter and get a greencard. I would suggest you look harder for a co-sponsor.

You'll also need to pay attention to your prospective sponsor's income and existing dependents. They may ask for your sponsor's W2s and tax returns.
