Finally!!!

I had my interview at Guangzhou Consulate, China. Most people got approved that day. A few were required to sumbit additional documents or got AP. But no one was declined.

My VO was a middle-aged Latina woman with a poker face. Very impersonal but effective. She only asked me a few questions like "do you speak English?" "what's your husband's job?" "how did you meet each other?" "are you aware of any protection measures from domestic volience?" . She didn't even glance at me twice during the whole process but was busy typing on her desktop. After 2 or 3 minutes, she clipped several pieces of paper together and told me with an unchanged straight face: "Congrates, your visa is approved. Have a nice day!" and went on to call for the next interviewee...

Poker face is contagious! I walked out of the consulate to meet my husband who was waiting anxiously outside, with some very serious look on my face. At first sight of my face, he thought I didn't pass and obviously desperately tried to say something comforting when he pulled me into his arms. I bit onto his shoulder, a bit harder than I should and he winced and ouched. I knew I wasn't dreaming since he felt the pain. He grinned silly after I told him our visa is approved.

I checked ou the visa status and it's said my visa has been printed and avaible to pick up soon. We both can't stop grinning silly now!

My visa application took exactly 6 months and all went very smoothly. Our case was first sent to CSC and then routed to MSC. got NOA2 within 2 months. Opt-ined EP. No REF.

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal
