I like the old James Bond movies this guy looks out of place to me too what happend to the actor before this guy Pierec brosman espically Sean Connery back in his days they were both good.

If you're thinking of Roger Moore ("dapper Bond"), well he was not as good an actor as Connery.

If you're thinking of Tim Dalton, see my earlier post (I called him "empty Bond"--maybe I should have used "JUNK Bond" ) for good reason.

Still, "chocolate Bond" Brosnan couldn't hold candle to Connery or Moore.

Can't wait to see it! I think he will be a top JB but he might not catch on with the popular vote. Kinda like Dalton, he was a good bond but he couldn't deliver those throw-away lines as well as his predecessors, but was perhaps the most realistoic as a spy, Gritty and hard edged. Another movie may have seen him more fondly remembered.

Again this is the same as Lazenby. The guy gets slated but he played aa more vulnerable bond and had a much harder acting role than moore ever had, as he gets married and she dies! Many so called actors would struggle there.

No disputing connery is the best bond, the original! A sexual predator. I liked moore because he added that bit of humour to it but he just got to old to realistically wooing those 20 year old honey's!!!!! Brosnan had it all, grit, realism, he 's a suave #######, and could act. Shame about 'DieAnother Day'!!!! The best bond opening for many years (where he gets captured, tortuured, traded, then that escape is pure class), but ends up being the worst bond film ever. Jiust my opinion.

I'll opine however that casting Daniel Craig as Bond is like casting Matt McConaughey as Dirk Pitt (done last year in "Sahara").

One thing I don't get, is the casting of M. Judi Dench, who has played M since "Tomorrow Never Dies," was supposed to be the replacement for the previous M, who was male, played by various actors through the franchise. Casino Royale is supposed to be the prequel for the series, giving the backstory of how Bond became 007. Yet, Judi Dench is playing the M who hires Bond. Are they pretending M was always a woman, and the same woman?

Its a "reboot" - kind of like what Batman Begins did to the original Batman movies: treated them as if they didn't exist.

Judi Dench first appeared in Goldeneye - around the time that Stella Rimmington was running MI5, not - I hasten to add, MI6 - which is who Bond theoretically would work for.

"I love myself" McConaughey was woefully miscast - but that movie would have tanked even without him. It was incredibly awful.

Ehhh...call me a scrooge but Bond lost it's appeal for me the way comics did as I got older. He's a relic from the Cold War era.

I still like a lot of that stuff. Has a lot to do with my writing - I write short stories in what little spare time I have - I the style of a lot of the old pulp fiction. James Bond is interesting because the character itself has changed relatively little as opposed to the narrative which has changed a hell of a lot.
