My daughter just completed her medical and has an interview next week. I have heard that a DNA test will be requested; if this is true when would the DNA test be requested?

I have read other threads that dna was requested to prove the father. Is your name on birth certificate?

Most of the time they wld ask for a dna before u get a interview date,if you are the dad n recently add your name to birthcertificate r your name is nt there then they request one

My name is on the birth certificate as the father, i was in the USA when child was born but mother sent me a form to sign and notorized to have my name added to birth cert when registering child's birth.

Interview was today and they did ask for DNA. The closest DNA lab to Springfield, MA is RI and the cost is $900.

EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No you don't necessarily need to go to the Headquarter lab to take the DNA test.

Choose one which is the most convenient for you.

http://www.aabb.org/SA/FACILITIES/Pages/RTestAccrFac.aspx

Here how my case worked:

- Call them and ask for the local lab which near your zip code.

- Book an appointment. Pay the minimum deposit first

The early you paid off, the early the KIT would be sent to US Embassy.

P/s: My case costs my father $620 total included sending fee *round-trip* to US Consulate in Vietnam.
