hello everyone!

me and my fiance are waiting now for 5 months on our K1 visa. so we hope soon we will get approved.

so we try to prepare everything for the embassy interview. i was wondering does anyone has any idea what the consular is looking up at the affidavit of support and all those paperwork for financial support? is it just for the sponsor to have enough money meaning to have more than poverty line?

i ask this because my boyfriend paid all his taxes to gov but he still has some phone bills to pay all together around 1000$. do u think that can be a reason for a waiver?

I believe if you meet the income requirements and can prove just that, no bills come into play. I'm personally attaching the last 3 years of tax transcripts, a few recent pay stubs and a letter from my employer. Nothing else, cut and dry.

As long as your meet the "requirements" for the visa you applied for don't worry about any bills... We all have bills, some paid and some unpaid. Best wishes!

They do not ask for or look at any bills and debts. The sponsor needs to meet the income requirement for their household size plus the foreign fiance(e). Current annual income is their gross pay, before any taxes come out and no debts are subtracted. http://www.visajourney.com/content/support

thank you everyone very much for your answers. now i can calm down...haha

is good to know my happines is not in danger for some bills.

thank you again

Bills will not affect you getting a VISA but they most certainly can affect your happiness. The amount of money required for the visa is what you need to NOT live in "poverty". Living in "happiness" requires far more.

Granted his phone bills will probably go down when you arrive, but he can reduce them now with low cost "calling cards" Have him check them out online.
