Something wrong with USCIS N-400 form download on website?

Hi VJ Family!

Has anyone else had trouble down-loading the N 400 application off of the USCIS web-site? I've tried it from multiple computers over the course of a month, and it never works. I always get a message that my PDF viewer may not be able to properly view the document...but like I said I tried it with various computers all of which have the most up-dated PDF viewer. http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/n-400.pdf

So, is the USCIS web-site the problem?

I do have a N-400 form I downloaded last year, that says "Rev. 3/22/12". Is this the latest edition? It also says it expires "3/31/13".

Can we use this form, as long as we POSTMARK it by 3/31/13? When will they put the new version up?

Thanks for any advice you can give!

-Claire

I am not having any problem. Use this link. Check your browser, and make sure Adobe is your default document viewer.

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/n-400.pdf

That is the most current form.

Something is amiss with the USCIS site, tried the IRS site to download a given form, get a box on Firefox that asks me what to do with it, like download it to a directory in my computer.

Tried the same thing on the USCIS site with Firefox, no box, went directly to the N-400 site, with the options of the form, instructions, etc. Clicked on the form, opened a new blank window. No way to download this form.

So I tried IE, it did the same thing, but opened a window with the form showing on the internet. So I hit save as, and tried to download the entire form, only downloaded a part of it and could no open with either Adobe Reader or Pro., said the file was corrupted.

Since today is Presidents Day, doubt if anyone is around at the USCIS to fix this problem, could try tomorrow.

Which pdf plug in are you using? I have no problem using Chrome, and the built-in pdf plug in disabled. Chrome and Open Office don't work with pdf's created using Adobe.

I'm using a Mac too, it works fine. Try Firefox. Or, PM me an email address and I'll send it to you. Edit: trying to attach the file here.

Thank you Jon and Sol for your help. The download is only a one pager with the text:

I have the latest acrobat reader, and no problem opening every other form on the INS site including : http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-90.pdf they all show fine, but the N-400.pdf -- Just for my sanity, when you open the file that you attached, you actually see the form, right? I'll have to go to a public library to try a PC machine with IE as my next step. Thank you for your kind gesture, and hopefully the attachment does show the form for others with better luck.
Happy Holidays.

I had to choose "Acrobat Reader" as the application to open the pdf. On OS X version 10.8.5 preview is the default pdf reader. When opening the N-400.pdf you must select Acrobar Reader, otherwise you keep getting opening the version with the one pager of the please wait message.

That's the same with Firefox. Once I figured out the little bar at the top of the page saying Open with different viewer it opened perfectly with Adobe Acrobat.

Thanks for trying to attach the form, when I downloaded it, it still showed the same message about as I saw from the website.

This was frustrating, as I have tried on different machines as well, with Chrome, Firefox, IE10... what ended up working for me was installing the adobe reader from Adobe.com . A bit silly that they still require the reader, but I am guessing this is to make sure that you use the proper version for filling out the form.

Hope this helps!
