hello,

I and my husband just got married a week ago.

I'm planning to file AOS soon, but my concern is that right now are looking for an apartment, but have no luck finding one yet.

I rent a room. I talked to the landlord to see if my husband can live with me and I'm willing to pay more. He denied because he said rule is rule. The room is meant for 1 person only.

My husband currently live with his brother because he just lost his job. For some reason, his brother hates my gut.

My husband talked to him to see if we can move in there for a while he said NO!!

so my question is, can we live in different places for a while? would that be a problem because they will ask you in the I-485 form.

Note: we have a strong relationship: phone bills, bank account, joint account, car title etc.

We also have a co-signer.

please helps

Back then, you were male. Are you female now, or is this a same-gender marriage?

**** Moving from AOS from Family visa to AOS from Work/ TOurist etc visa as OP gives no indication they came here on a K1 ****

OP- please fil in your time line so we can better advice you.

It's difficult but not impossible to get approved when not living together, especially if you have a concrete plan as to when you CAN live together. However, with you having filed VAWA only last year against (this? or a different?) spouse, it will make approval extremely difficult.
