Was the guys initial reaction shooting his gun into the air a bit extreme? Perhaps.

HOWEVER, the kid rolled down the window in front of a man man with a gun. You don't get much more stupid than that right there.

The kid didn't 'deserve' to die, but he's definitely got some fault in this.

Shooting in the air was extremely dangerous. The kid has no blame in this, the man is a murderer.

I'm more amused that people are this bothered by the situation. It's on incident in a Georgia neighborhood that has no effect on your life or those around you. It's one of those *gasp* news stories that someone is just trying to take the guns out of the hands of citizens.

You wanted to make a murder political. You made your bed, so now lay in it. It's really that simple.

You can't be shocked by reactions when you don't get the answers/reactions you were looking for.

I guess it would be ok to shoot the mailman, UPS or FedEx driver too for trespassing if he rang your doorbell to deliver a package? Ditto for the kid selling Girl Scout cookies. Or the Census worker. Or the guy reading the electric meter. Or gas meter. Or water meter. Or working on the phone or power line. After all, you'd be protecting your property.

i'm personally bothered because tons of people have and use guns in my own community and there are plenty that are trigger happy. and racist.

i have brown people in my family and considering they're normally the ones who end up dead in these sorts of scenarios i worry about them, especially my teenaged cousins.

when i read an article like this my reaction isn't "take the guns, let the good honest caring government take all the guns. please i'm scared, make it better obama", my reaction is "some people are not stable enough to maintain proper use of a firearm and shouldn't have the capability to snuff a life in a matter of seconds due to improper judgement/paranoia"
