Why ar you so dense....Liberals tried to push it through. What was tried in NY.....

I'm not dense. They tried and the effort failed. Happens all the time. So what? That does NOT mean that the registration is some slippery slope leading to confiscation. That are the paranoid voices in your head. You should have that checked out before it gets worse.

ever heard the term 'better to be safe, than sorry.'

Yep. I'm sure people who stockpile weapons are doing it for safety reasons.

Like I've said many times, I am not against legal, responsible gun owners owning a gun or two for protection. People clearly feel that it's necessary, I'm not one of them, but live and let live.

It's the almost instant access, the no background checks in some cases, the mentally ill getting their hands on them, the people who are more paranoid than rational and overreact to life's situations ... those are the things that worry me.

Papers please Comrade!

I mean, I'm sure you have no problem with us asking individuals for papers to make sure they are legally here and not committing a crime. After all, 'it comes with living in a society.'

I'll trade. Support registration of firearms and I'll support 'papers please'. Deal?

The liberal elite ... know that the people simply cannot be trusted; that they are incapable of just and fair self-government; that left to their own devices, their society will be racist, sexist, homophobic, and inequitable -- and the liberal elite know how to fix things. They are going to help us live the good and just life, even if they have to lie to us and force us to do it. And they detest those who stand in their way."

I am thrilled that you are ok with me owning whatever type or number of firearms that you see fit. I will go for that if you will let me dictate your reproductive choices. far trade right ?

Registration in and of itself does not infringe IMO as long as the fees do not become a barrier to ownership.

That being said, the State of New York has shown that registration does lead to loss of property in that registered firearms under the previous law now must either removed from the state or handed over to the state (without fair compensation I should add).

If you can shell out $500.00 for that gun, I'd venture to say that you can spare $20.00 for the registration.

20USD is not a barrier. Of course if it was NY, I wouldn't trust them.
