Hello VJ,

I have a question I am throwing out for someone to answer. My mother (US Citizen) filed for a permanent residence for her sister back in 2011. She is awaiting for her approval to come through. However, the twist in this case is that now she is married, but the case is already in the process to be approved. What can my mother do to add her husband to the original case so he can come with her once the case is approved. Also, How long is it taking currently for such a case to be approved?

Help and input is greatly appreciated!

The I-130 that individuals file for their siblings cover derivatives ie spouse and or children (actual/CSPA age under 21). Derivatives can have their names included when the petition is originally filed, added at the NVC stage or at the interview stage for the possibility of immigrant visas.

Currently it's taking 12 years to process F4's. The link below has the visa bulletin which lets interested parties know up to what priority dates are to be interviewed in the following month.
