Hey Guys,

I received my AP Travel Document today which threw me as i was led to believe it should be on my EAD Card when it arrives? Do you get both?

What did you get? Describe it.

Its printed on high quality light green paper, says The United States of America on the top like it does on money. Has the liberty torch in red in the middle of the letter, if you hold it up to the light it has the seal and basically says to take this if i leave the USA and show it when i return, has valid from and to dates of 1 year.

I received my AP Travel Document today which threw me as i was led to believe it should be on my EAD Card when it arrives? Do you get both?

Before the combo cards, AP was a letter sizesd paper with your photo on it. They sent two identical ones. Is that what you got? Our AP was separate in 2008. I suppose they would still use the separate ones for people not doing EAD, but it's unusual since you applied for both.

That is just the approval notice. The paper-style AP has a photo on it and is two copies. I bet your EAD will say "serves as 512L Advance Parole." The combo-card thing is not perfectly streamlined - that is why your letter says AP is enclosed when it is not. It's all a lot of template stuff that is not designed for the combo-card (which is new and only made for AOS - a small percentage of total EADs). Your combo card will be coming soon.

Nope. Wait and see what your EAD says. I bet you'll feel a lot more comfortable then. This is only the approval notice, not the document itself required for travel. You will get a similar notice for the EAD and your GC when that is approved. It's just notice of approval.
